For decades Luke has been the Valley's thunder overhead - one of the premier fighter-pilot training installations in the country, and a neighbor woven into the daily life of the West Valley. Its jets are a familiar sight against the desert sky, and its history runs alongside the growth of Glendale and the communities around it.
For enthusiasts of things that fly fast and loud, few places in Arizona command the same respect. Luke is a reminder that some of the most extraordinary machines in the Valley never touch a road at all.
