You stretch out on a chaise tucked in a quiet corner, snuggle into your soft oversized robe and sip a cup of green tea. Your mind begins to drift and your eyes feel heavy. You're at the spa, taking the stress out of your over-stressed life...
Few places do the spa ritual quite like Arizona. The desert resorts built their reputations on it - treatments drawn from the landscape, pools that catch the last of the sun, and a stillness that the Valley seems to hold better than anywhere else.
The luxury is not the treatment itself so much as the permission it grants: an afternoon with nowhere to be, and nothing to do but be looked after. In a life measured out in obligations, that may be the rarest indulgence of all.
