From the Editor: Boom Your Life

This year, I've decided to Boom my life. Don't know what that means? I didn't either until I asked Jeff Taylor, the founder of Monster.com and, most recently, Eons.com, the online meeting place for boomers over fifty. It is much, much more than another place to find your soul mate. I was delighted to meet Jeff and Eons spokesperson Jane Seymour recently and learn what his new venture has to offer those of us who don't plan to pull out the rocking chair anytime soon. Learn how to "top ten" yourself, and more, in Boom Your Life.

Speaking of soul mates, romance is in the air - not the candlelit-dinner kind, but the kind found between the pages of novels. Romance writers converge on the Valley of the Sun this spring for the Desert Rose Romance Writers conference. If writing a novel is a dream of yours, read how to make it come true in The Plot Thickens: Writing Romance is Big Business.

In this issue you can also read about "Eclecticism" from our resident design expert, Ernesto Garcia. Our travel guide, Susan Lanier-Graham, goes to London, Royal Style and also takes to the sea to review Today's Floating Resorts. On the local scene, Sarah Parkin uncovers a very unusual business here in the middle of the desert, and new contributor Richard J. May explores the closest thing Phoenix has to a Chinatown at the Chinese Cultural Center - everything from silk to huge tanks of live eels, fish, lobster, and crabs.

And if you really want to optimize your potential but aren't sure where to start, read Extreme Makeover For Your Life by Roberta Proulx, who interviews life-coach expert Dr. Marcia Reynolds. Now I'm torn: do I boom my life or get a life coach? Better idea - I'll do both.

Wherever you go, whatever you do, enjoy the View.
